Who we Are

Operation Claude Robinson was initiated by friends of Claude, cultural and media workers who support his cause, and the SARTEC (Société des auteurs de radio, télévision et cinéma).

Pierre Paquet: Spokesperson

Pierre has been friends with Claude for a long time. He was one of the first to help him, fifteen years ago, by introducing him to the attorney who would defend him. President and publisher of Communications VOIR, Pierre has always tried to spread and promote the work of Quebec creators. He participates in this initiative with this spirit in mind.

Sylvie Lussier: Spokesperson

A recognized author, Sylvie has cowritten several radio and television dramas since 1989 (4 et demi…, Les aventures tumultueuses de Jack Carter and L’auberge du chien noir). She has been an executive council member of the SARTEC since 1998 and is now its president. She is a member of Operation Claude Robinson as a representative of this association, but also as an author who understands the importance of a relationship of trust between producers and creators.

The SARTEC:  Fund management and logistical support

The SARTEC is an association recognized by the Status of the Artist Act to represent the authors who work in television, radio and cinema in order to defend their common interests. In 2002, it established a support fund to allow its members to financially support Claude Robinson. The association enthusiastically accepted to pursue this invaluable work within Operation Claude Robinson, by allowing us to open this support fund to the public and by providing the site with content.

Claude Dubois: Advisor

Claude Dubois has been friends with Claude for a long time and has accompanied him, since the beginning, in his fight against Cinar. Throughout the years, he has introduced the Quebec creator to his friends, including several members of the group behind this initiative, in order to financially help him. Claude Dubois is involved in social causes, such as the Fondation pour l’art thérapeutique et l’art brut du Québec—also known as Les Impatients. Cofounder of Transcontinental, he has been an executive council member of several cultural organizations.

Jean Blouin: Writing and communication

Jean is a friend of Claude Robinson who has been active in media and communication fields for over 40 years as an independent (Perspectives, L’actualité and Radio-Canada) and business communication journalist (Transcontinental). He actively contributes to Operation Claude Robinson by writing texts and press releases.

Simon Jodoin: Web site, social media and writing

Singer-songwriter-composer, columnist and director of the Webzine BangBang, Simon has been present in the new media and alternative culture fields for over 15 years. He established Operation Claude Robinson’s Web site and updates and takes part in the viral strategies.

Caisse de la Culture: Technical support and fund reception

The Caisse de la Culture is well known in the Quebec cultural and artistic milieu and was established to give cultural artists, creators, craftspeople and businesses the means to foster and reach their aspirations. Creative and avant-gardist, it is the only financial institution that entirely focuses on the needs and aspirations of artists and cultural workers. Its experts understand the challenges and ambitions linked to careers in the artistic field and are able to accompany its members throughout their lives by giving them the appropriate financial tools. The Caisse de la Culture is proud to contribute to this initiative by setting up the electronic transaction system for Claude Robinson support fund.
